Our Purpose
To shatter stigma, the “pinned” exercise from the video on the home page offers a powerful reference point that highlights our shared humanity and vulnerability—anyone can reach a breaking point. It reframes the idea of weakness at the root of stigma, showing that people facing mental health challenges are not weak, but often in a weakened state. This understanding calls for compassion and a hand-up on healing journeys, not stigma.
The Story Behind Pinned2Purpose
Time spent with my 105-year-old relative, Alf Moore, and learning from his wisdom was always a reminder of the value of time; the normalcy of change and the ups and downs of life; and the benefits of staying in the game through gratitude, humor and connection. At 105, Alf would begin every day by looking in the mirror and saying, “Oh, good! You’re still here. Happy birthday, Alf!”
I’m sharing my story in the hope it helps others who may be struggling.
